Today in 1985, the mayors of Rome Italy, and Carthage Tunisia, sign a friendship pact, and, after 2,131 years, the Third Punic War is officially over.
It's the birthday of American Football great, Roger Staubach(1942), who coined the phrase "Hail Mary Pass", when he said a Hail Mary, before launching a last second, 50 yard throw, to Drew Pearson, for the 1975 playoff win over the Minnesota Vikings.
It's also the birthday of auto racing commentator, and NASCAR legend, Darrell Waltrip (1947).
