Grape Juice can improve your memory. Lately I have been noticing my short term memory has been really bad. A real case of CRS. I mentioned this to an M.D. and he told me to try Grape Juice. He told me it has the kind of sugar our brains like the best. Today I decided to buy some grapejuice and do a little research. Holy Dionysus Batman He was right. Scientists from the psychiatry departmen at the university of Cincinnati did a study with elderly patients half drinking concord grape juice the other half drinking Placebo. In 12 weeks the patients drinking the grape juice where having big improvements to their memory in a variety of test scores. The Placebo drinkers made no improvement. So there you have it. Drink Grape Juice and improve your memory. Just be sure to buy grape juice with no added sugar or high fructose corn syrup. Went shopping for a Multi-Vitamin today. I ended up choosing Life Force Brand Multiple Vitamins. Partly because they where on sale but mostly because they contain Methylcobalamin B-12 instead of Cyanocobalamin B-12 which is what all the other Multi's I found had. According to Dr. Ray Sahelian, M.D. Methylcobalamin "has some metabolic and therapeutic applications not shared by the other forms of vitamin B12." According to the Dr. It improves alertness and has some benefit to diabetic neurapathy as well as a host of other positives. Heres a Link to the Article. http://www.raysahelian.com/methylcobalamin.html
If you take Metformin for diabetes or pre-diabetes you may want to look at taking a Vitamin B-12 supplement. Vitamin B-12 deficiency can cause memory loss and fatigue as well as mental confusion it can also lead to peripheral nerve dammage. Here is an article that talks about Metformin causing B-12 deficiency.
http://www.diabetesselfmanagement.com/Blog/Amy-Campbell/metformin_and_risk_for_vitamin_b12_deficiency/ If you are using soy products like tofu and soy milk here are some things you may want to consider (at least if you are male.) Japanese women sometimes feed their husbands Tofu if they suspect he is cheating (or because he leaves the seat up.) Soy has phytoestrogens which are female hormones. Soy can wreak havoc on the male physique. Here is an article from Men's Health that tells about one fellow that started growing breasts, and having problems keeping his pencil sharp because he was drinking soy milk. http://www.menshealth.com/nutrition/soys-negative-effects
I used to drink soymilk but found that almond milk tastes better and doesn't have the negative side effects (like crying during Bud Light comercial's) that soy does. There's lots of products that contain soy including "Ensure." so make sure you read the labels. B |
