I just got home. Ive been out running in crappy weather and Ice covered roads the last week which means that I havent been able to do my Kettlebell Exercises or any exercise for that matter so I was pleasantly surprised this am I am back down around 311 lbs. Keep in mind that I eat like a horse, ie yesterday breakfast was a bowl of raisin bran with milk, coffee, and waffle with loads of butter and syrup, lunch at Mom and Pop's was 2 delicious 7grain roast beef sandwiches and a dark leafy green salad, dinner was popcorn (sigh, and yes it was after six and dont even ask me how much butter I dumped on it from the melted butter dispenser) at the movie theater, we went and saw "I am number four" Good Movie! except Tweet kept handing me Milk Duds, Then I kept swigging on her Soda so yep I would say my Diet/Life style change works great! At least it does as long as I stay in my Truck! lol.

I was headed home from Missoula on the 15th for my 34 off and my birthday when my tail lights went out in a snowstorm near St Regis Montana. So I parked my Rig in St Regis and decided out of boredom to celebrate my B day a little early, got off of my diet routine ate too late drank a few high calorie beverages. Oh well, what the heck it is my B day after all, then the next day went out for sushi and then after dinner Fruit Tart from my wonderful Family once again a little too late in the day. Ok Dude Birthday is over! get a grip! Then last night, a huge dinner and more Icy Cold Beverages once again after 6 at my favorite little restaurant and Pub ( Rays Golden Lion). This AM I weighed myself Yaaagh!!!("Dean Scream") 317 lbs....I could have easily stayed on my routine and not partied but instead I chose not to. Oh Well, this is a learning process. Im back with the program, its Oatmeal with blue berries for breakfast. Then off to Seattle to pick up a Montana Load.
Every few days I like to stop in a rest area or truck stop and do my "Kettlebell Swing" I was working out at the rest area by Cle elum when this driver (his name is Jas) from Canada asked to try the Kettlebell Swing, I think its a great trucker workout, Check out the link to Amazon Kettlebells for sale below and support this website!!
I weighed myself this am and Im down to 311 pounds. Two weeks ago I was 315 pounds, I know I know, on Biggest Loser they lose that much in ten minutes. Well, I lost this weight while working driving my truck long haul full time and eating whatever I felt like. Losing two pounds a week hunger free works for me!
So I woke up this morning determined to make the most of the last of my 34 hours off until my Logbook Re sets. I Grabbed my Nikon d-40 Camera and drove a couple miles from my hotel to to the Tukwilla "Light Rail" Station to grab the train to Downtown Seattle. Very Cool Day, I got a lot of shots and the sun came out and warmed the top of my Bald Head! I also got to do a little Valentine shopping at the Pike Street Market Too! I highly recommend taking the light rail to downtown and making a day of it. It only costs five bux round trip and there are tons of little shops and restaurants and Cool Architecture to Photograph. My Adventure begins here at the Tukwilla Light Rail Station. Brunch was Greek Salad and Hand Made Dolmas Lots of Tall Buildings to Photograph I liked this sign in a dead end ally with a concrete wall behind it.."redundancy anyone?" I used to stand where this guy was playing in the Pike Street Market, and "busk" for a few bux back in the early nineties. Lol although he plays much better. Dinner was Healthy Trucker Oyster Soup and a Beer at Emmet Watson's Oyster Bar I was reading my favorite Photography Blog, Ken Rockwell's Blog http://www.kenrockwell.com It seems as well as a Camera Guru he knows a lot about Electromagnetic Radiation. He Blog's that scientists have finally done the research that conclusively proves that Cell Phone Radiation causes Cancer. Ken says, "WiFi and Bluetooth do transmit real power, transmit on the same 2.4GHz bands more or less as used by microwave ovens, and this radiation is absorbed by human tissue exactly in the same way a turkey heats in a microwave oven. WiFi and Bluetooth don't transmit much power, so they aren't much of a concern. We're happy if Bluetooth gets us a few feet reliably, and I'm ecstatic if WiFi makes it from one side of my condo to the other.
Cell phones operate on these same microwave bands, but the problem is that they have enough power to transmit many miles to cell phone base stations (towers), and worse, that many of us hold cell phones so close that they touch our heads!" here is a link to the Research: http://www.surgicalneurology-online.com/article/S0090-3019(09)00145-1/abstract So, if you are one of those people (like me) that still hasn't made the switch to a hands free device like bluetooth it may be time! B I was going to take the new "Light Rail" in Seattle to downtown as a way to have fun get some exercise walking around downtown seattle taking pictures, then Rush hour struck I made it to the light rail depot but it was nearly dark thanks to all the traffic slowing me down so I decided to put the Light Rail- Downtown Seattle adventure on hold and eat supper before it was after 6 pm. I pulled my little camry into a large Ethnic Restaurant called "Punjab Palace" right across the way from the Light Rail Station, It was a over priced but the food was good and the atmosphere was actually kinda cool. Sometimes I like to have an adventure in the Big City. Seattle is where the company I work for is located, so I sometimes leave my truck in the yard for a service and a wash, grab my Camera and head into Seattle for a mini Adventure. What better way to take 34 off and re set my logbook! B

One of the four pillars of good health is sleep. Back in my early thirties I started noticing I was having a lot of lucid dreaming and really vivid dreams that I could actually remember. I didn't realize at the time that this was a sign of sleep apnea. sleep apnea is when you arent breathing well while sleeping so your body in order to keep you breathing keeps waking you up! Well looking back I realize it is around this time that I started my slow progression of weight gain as well as started having high blood pressure. Both weight gain and high blood pressure can be caused by sleep apnea, and also it can work the other way, weight gain can cause sleep apnea too! Well, ignorance is bliss or in my case slow death, it wasnt until about three years ago that I took my doctors advice and went in for a sleep study. A sleep study is a test where they place sensors all over your head and wrists and basically watch you sleep. They then give all this info to a doctor and he makes a suggestion as to what you need to get a good nights sleep. I had pretty severe sleep apnea. This was very bad,
Sleep apnea and driving truck dont mix. For obvious reasons, truckers need to be well rested and alert, so they put me on a breathing machine called a C-Pap. This machine takes some getting used to, it has a squirrel cage pump inside it that's controlled by complex computer algorithms, and pumps air through a tube and into a mask over your face that keeps your airway clear and free from choking events so You can get a good nights sleep. For over the road trucking and travelers in general a very good cpap I've found is called the Transcend mini cpap. I bought mine re furbished here. The Transcend mini cpap is smaller than paper back novel, weighs less than a pound and saves all my data so when I need to get my DOT physical I can plug into my windows computer where there's an app that lets me/and my physician, access my information, So if You're serious about losing weight and getting healthy, Consider Taking time to visit a sleep doctor B Ok so I kept track of everything I ate yesterday and also all the different stuff I did while working. For breakfast at 9 30 am I had 2 Eggs, 1 english muffin, one 8 oz steak, 1 hashbrowns, 1 sixteen ounce tomato juice for a total of 1,114 calories then at around noon I had a 16 oz mocha 1/2 mocha 1/2 coffee with 4 crackers for 320 calories. Then supper at 3:45 was kentucky fried chicken 2 biscuits add honey and butter, 1 breast original, 1 drum stick original, 1 thigh original and a cole slaw and mashed with gravy for a total of 1500 calories. that is a grand total of 2,614 calories oh yeah add 5 soda crackers at 11:30 pm 60 calories 2,674 calories consumed in a 24 hour period. My day consisted of 10 hours sleeping, ten hours driving, and 2 hours walking/unloading in -20 weather and 2 hours miscellaneous which I called resting.
I plugged the activities into the calorie burning website http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc I blogged about in my previous blog and came up with a grand total of 5,425 calories burned minus the 2674 calories eaten in the same 24 hour period = 2751 more calories burned than eaten. Wow! I basically Pigged out during my waking hours and still lost a lot of weight. One thing I love about this trucker diet is that the painful hunger part happens while you are sleeping so you dont have to be aware at all that you are even hungry. As you can see this diet/life style is definitely not starvation mode! although keep in mind at this point I still weigh over 300 lbs this means I also burn more calories at any given activity, double the calories a person that weighs 150 lbs would burn.
